Detours in Time, Visual Book Promo. (Fun with Canva)

Yes, this post is about book promo graphics and a little bit about my new book.  I’ve had fun making them with Canva for my new sci-fi release, Detours in Time, a tale of two steadfast friends who take a life-changing journey to the future that becomes a challenge course in difficult decisions.  This post is also about the characters from my book.  I think each post says something about them that is important to the story.

The above says the characters are human.  They make mistakes.  They know there are  rules to follow and that time travel can be very sticky.  Yet, each individual has their own standard for abiding by rules.   For instance, would you break a rule to save a life? Where would you draw the line?  If you change something in the future, is it actually changed at all?  What if you found out too much about the future?

DetoursMemeMilt1 look fifty,

This graphic above screams romance.  Yet, my book is not classified as romance, since I think romance is my man joining me in goofy song when I sing Bohemian Rhapsody.  Is there even a genre for that?  However, let me say this, the best time traveler* usually has a steadfast companion.  This graphic gives some insight into what Pinky thinks of Milt.  While the guy pictured does not look as Milt is described in the book, he has a youthful smile, and so does Milt.  In my opinion, an awkward scientist with youthful curiosity is definitely appealing.  Milt was fun to write.  🙂  So was Pinky, which brings me to the next photo…..

This photo perfectly wraps up Pinky’s attitude and tells a little about the dynamics between Pinky and Milt at the start of the story.  Unfortunately,  I had to use a photo with a girl who looks like a teenager to convey the right sentiment.  Pinky is 30 years old.  Well, she dresses like a teen.  So, the sentiment expressed here is perfect.  I could not explain all of this on Twitter, but I figured my bloggers’ community would understand.

DetoursPaperback_5211604616564778768_n  Detours in Time is my latest sci-fi novel, released on 6/16.  It is available on Kindle, in paperback, and free on Kindle Unlimited.  https://www.amazon.com/Detours-Time-Pamela-Schloesser-Canepa-ebook/dp/B0711ZW6XF

(Of course, I would love for a lot of people to read it, no matter what format you choose, and feedback is a wonderful thing).

Brief Blurb:  Pinky and Milt have been steadfast friends for years, but their journey to the future becomes a challenging maze of danger and difficult decisions. On an unplanned “detour,” the two set events into action that could save one life and destroy another. Can these friends of completely different mindsets agree on a course of action?

*Please note:  Evidently I can’t spell traveler wrong.  In the U.S., it’s spelled with one L.  In Britain, it is spelled with two.  Since I read books from both places equally, neither looks right to me, therefore, neither one can be wrong either.  I’m sticking to that story.  🙂

Peace,

Pamela
